Of all of the things in the world that could have made me feel better tonight, I never imagined that the list would be topped with "a date with Severus Snape," but here I am, writing with a smile on my face that I, Beverly Malkin, have a date with Severus Snape, and I am more than a little happy about it. Even though I don't know yet what happened to Elaine. Even though it could be entirely awkward to parade in front of the rest of the school in Hogsmeade. Even though I know he's not exactly on the list of the most desireable males at Hogwarts, I have a date with Severus Snape.

Really, when you think about it, what is it that makes someone desireable? I think a lot of people would talk about good looks like Sirius Black has or a very loud personality like James Potter has. To be honest. . .I don't like either of them all that much. I mean, James isn't quite as bad as Sirius, and as friends, they're both entirely acceptable, but. . .that's not what I really want. Good looks fade with age, and I'm not a loud person. I want someone I can talk to about intellectual things, not boring things like Quidditch. Someone who's interested in hearing my theories on things and talking to me and looks me in the eye instead of the chest (yes, world, I know that they're large, but they won't respond if you talk to them).

Severus Snape is like that. Doc Dearborn is like that. Most of my male friends are like that. And, to be honest. . .well, I like Severus. He may not look like what most people consider to be attractive, but he's smart and very, very kind. It makes me wonder how in the hell he can be friends with someone like Killian Mulciber.

Friends. . .God, I hope Elaine's alright. I'll have to owl her in the morning and see how she's doing. . .if her rat bastard grandfather is even letting her receive mail.

I LIKE BIG LETTERS. THEY ARE MUCH BETTER THAN LITTLE LETTERS. LITTLE LETTERS ARE SMALL AND THEY ARE HARD TO READ BUT I LIKE BIG LETTERS BETTER AND THEN LITTLE LETTERS AFTER BIG LETTERS.

I WANT A SNACK CAN SOMEONE GO WITH ME TO GET A SNACK CAUSE I DON'T THINK I'M ALLOWED TO GO BY MYSELF.
